Shift Collaborative is proud to present Susan Gans and David Traylor: Micro/Macro. The view shifts from far to near, detail to fractal and back again. Do stop by on First Thursday, meet the artists and enjoy the presentation.
The studio will be open at the usual hours plus walk-throughs by the artists on Wednesdays from 12-2pm through April (11, 18, 25)
Susan Gans’ photomontages –small to medium sized sequences – invite scrutiny of detail and focused looking. The images form a visual journal that uses mood and light to define location and give context to the singular aspect or slice of the whole being studied.
David Traylor’s large, highly detailed, color field paintings create impressions of both intimate and grand landscapes. They range from barely recognizable large landforms seen through the fog or the darkness of night to an almost life sized area of groundcover found in a woodland garden.
