July @ Shift: Ken Barnes and Jen Grabarczyk, First Thursday July 11

Pretty much all of the Pioneer Square First Thursday scene is switching to July 11 this year, due to our national birthday celebration.  Shift is very pleased to follow suit with its opening and artist reception for Ken Barnes and Jen Grabarczyk, Thursday, July 11, 5-8pm.

These two artists are all about form and line. The intriguing aspect of spaciousness.  Ken Barnes’ is a sculptor who is interested in how perception evolves from initial impression to the emerging form. His new show is Black and White, and  as he notes, “Our eyes are drawn to the banded and colored stones on the beach, and we pick them up first. However, at the end of my walk, I leave the banded stones behind and keep those with elegant forms.”
